As Dolphin Drilling celebrates the significant milestone of a decade of service from several valued team members, we are reminded of the incredible people who have contributed to making our company what it is today.

Lynn Birse, Craig Moore, and Hollie Campbell have each marked ten years with us in 2024, reflecting a shared commitment to the company and a deep connection to its values.

Their journeys underscore the shared ethos at Dolphin: a dedication to trust, excellence, accountability and momentum and a supportive, people-centred culture that defines our workplace.

Lynn Birse, HR Manager

Lynn Birse, our HR Manager, has embodied Dolphin’s commitment to nurturing a close-knit, people-focused workplace since her first day in March 2014. With a background in both offshore industry HR and Grampian Police, Lynn brought unique experience and empathy to the role. She has built enduring relationships across our teams, connecting with employees onshore and offshore, and ensuring they feel genuinely valued.

Like so many of Team Dolphin, Lynn has remained with us for longer than any other employer, and her reasons for this are really clear: “It’s the people. Dolphin really does feel like one big family, where you’re genuinely cared for. Nobody is “just a number” here. What’s more, my work is varied and I’ve always been involved in a range of different projects as well as day-to-day activities.

“It’s also been satisfying to be a part of the company’s evolution, and help guide it through some of the offshore industry’s most challenging times, on to the upward journey we’re on today. HR will always be a focal point for the company’s workforce and it’s important to me to be able to support them not only from my desk in Aberdeen, but also offshore. I absolutely love going offshore to meet our team in their own environment - that has a huge impact on the relationships we build, which are central to us doing our job well.

Equally important to me is that Dolphin encourages change and improvement, and that fits with my own working ethos. Working smarter to contribute to business success is what gives me satisfaction, and I enjoy encouraging my (growing) HR team to develop in this way, too.”

Reflecting on their years together, VP of Human Resources Michelle Crawford shares, "It’s hard to believe that a whole decade has passed since Lynn joined the Dolphin HR team. Thank you for the last 10 years, your dedication, loyalty and support have never wavered. I appreciate everything you do for the Company and the HR team on a daily basis. I look forward to the next decade and the exciting times ahead!"

Craig Moore, Operational Project Manager

Since joining Dolphin as an Assistant Rig Manager a decade ago, Craig Moore’s career trajectory has seen him evolve into an indispensable asset to our operations. From his role in rig management to his recent position as Operational Project Manager, Craig brings a combination of technical, well operations, and project management skills to the mix. He has applied these across our rigs, whilst operating in both the North Sea and towing those rigs around the world to support international clients.

He’s also been focused on evaluating the latest technologies available to our sector as part of a new build assessment team, and most recently his time has been spent leading the multi-disciplined team that project managed the integration of the Paul B. Loyd Jr. rig into the company.

It sounds like a varied 10 years, which Craig says is one of the reasons for his longevity with us:

“Dolphin is a great company to work for. I’ve had the opportunity to really broaden my professional horizons, not least due to the faith Dolphin places in its workforce. I’ve been given the opportunity to take control and be genuinely accountable for the work I do, with my own skills and judgement trusted by the company.

“The company purpose, of being “deeply committed to delivering pioneering drilling services for the future”, is easy for me to align with, and is reflected in our continued growth and development. These are exciting times, and I’m pleased to be playing my part.”

Hollie Campbell, HR Coordinator

For HR Coordinator, Hollie Campbell, ten years at Dolphin Drilling represent both a professional and personal milestone. After joining us in late 2013 with a strong foundation in business and HR, worked with most Dolphin assets, using her knowledge and interpersonal abilities to ensure our rigs are crewed up with skilled individuals and out on schedule.

Hollie’s journey is particularly meaningful as she returns from her second maternity leave, representing Dolphin’s commitment to a supportive, flexible workplace.

Reflecting on her time with Dolphin, Hollie says, “The Dolphin HR team can be summed up in one word – supportive. Supportive of each other, which is wonderful - but more than that, we’re there to support the entire company and that’s something we take seriously. Personally, I’ve appreciated being able to work in a part-time role since my first maternity leave, and that support is illustrative of the approach the company takes.

“We pride ourselves on having a positive relationship with the whole workforce, whether they’re onshore or offshore, and that’s the key to me doing a good job. This is more than a business, it’s a community. And I am delighted that Dolphin is busy with current work and upcoming contracts.”

As we celebrate Lynn, Craig and Hollie’s ten-year anniversaries, we look forward to many more years of growth, leadership, and camaraderie.
