Dolphin Drilling Supports Local Food Bank with Generous Donation

I

Our recent fundraising efforts have helped support Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE), a vital resource for vulnerable individuals and families in Aberdeen and the surrounding area.

As part of the Aberdeen office’s participation in our Halloween bake-off at the start of November (an effort that would have made Mary Berry proud), staff raised £280, which the company generously doubled.

Office Manager Lesley Allan and Marketing Coordinator Sarah Gardyne visited the local Tesco Extra store, using the funds raised to purchase essential items for the food bank. Essentials that CFINE was running low on were prioritised, such as cereal, rice, pasta, other non-perishable food, household essentials, pet essentials, and childcare.

Poverty affects over one million people in Scotland, including 240,000 children. By providing immediate food assistance, CFINE also works with families to address the underlying issues they face, offering long-term support and a path to greater stability.

CFINE’s core purpose and aims are to improve health and wellbeing and the environment, tackle poverty and build resilience for and with disadvantaged, vulnerable, low-income individuals, families and communities in North East Scotland. To achieve their core purpose and aims, they run numerous support services, some of these include:

  • Emergency Food: Their food bank, located at 2-4 Poynernook Road AB11 5RW, is open every weekday from 10am-3pm. No referral is required.
  • Community Food Pantries
  • Warehouse Skills Development Programme
  • Free Period Products

We’re grateful to everyone who contributed. We encourage others to support CFINE and other charities whose work is essential to our community. Every donation makes a meaningful impact.

A special shoutout to our three bake-off winners: Malcolm Stott, Craig Moore (making the winners’ list for the second year in a row!), and Kelly To.
